Handbook / Teacher's Guide
It explains how to meet the current EYFS requirements including the type of resources that should be purchased to provide an ICT rich environment that will promote improved outcomes for children.
Many practitioners are still nervous about the use of ICT in their settings and this book will support them, whatever their level of confidence, in providing improved learning opportunities for children across the prime and specific areas of learning and development.
All the case studies, the ideas and the practical elements of the book are based on sound research, and Terry Gould's experience of working with young children. Terry was a former EYFS consultant with ICT lead status.
Terry was awarded a first class honours degree for teaching children in the 3-11 age range, a diploma in education, and a master's degree in teaching research in the early years. He has experience of working with all the age ranges within the primary sector but has an extensive range of experience working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage; including being deputy head teacher of a large 100-place flagship nursery school and deputy head teacher across 10 community nursery centres.
Terry has been a teacher representative on the Early Years Development Group at the Manchester Metropolitan University where he has contributed to conferences, seminars and workshops and a range of academic courses. He is an accredited assessor for the Early Years Professional Award and an experienced moderator for the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile. He has worked for a number of local authorities, private training providers and computer software publishing houses as a consultant, trainer and publisher. Part of this work has involved advising architects, planners, schools and children's centres on the design and development of outdoor grounds. Terry has led on the writing of a wide range of early years guidance materials for practitioners and regularly writes articles on early literacy for publications. He has contributed to a range of books, magazines, journals and training videos on the Early Years and enjoys a reputation for providing quality early years training and consultancy.
