Product Description

From Theory to Practice: Learning AI the fischertechnik Way

Hands-on exploration of AI concepts through robotics, coding, and data-driven learning

Students construct real robotic systems with sensors and actuators

They program behaviour using block or Python coding environments

They experiment with data and machine learning  (e.g. colour recognition, object detection)

They see how AI thinks, not just what it does - turning AI theory into insight!

The STEM Coding Ultimate AI pack includes:  A powerful controller, modern sensors and actuators, a user-friendly app, and the proven fischertechnik components provide hands-on access to advanced technologies.

Core topics include: object recognition, automated decision-making processes and machine learning.

  • With the new AI integration in the fischertechnik programming software, students and teachers can train their own neural networks and use them directly in fischertechnik robotics projects. The graphical user interface makes getting started intuitive: after training, a special programming block:  "execute NN with inpts" is generated that can be used like any sensor or actuator. This is how we bring artificial intelligence into the classroom—not as an abstract concept, but as a tangible, exciting learning experience for everyone.

  •  12 versatile, expandable models offer practical approaches to key topics in information technology and artificial intelligence:  Functional Model, Analog Sensors, Syringe Pumps, Gate Model, Parking Garage, Traffic Light Control, Driverless Transport Vehicle, Proximity Alarm

  • Action-oriented, differentiated learning approach promotes technical, methodological, personal, and social skills
  • Blockly and Python programming with powerful TXT 4.0 controller

Learning Objectives

  • Basic understanding of neural networks
Students understand that a neural network learns from data and generates outputs based on patterns
  • Working with real sensor data
Data from sensors such as color or distance is collected to train models that respond to real-life situations encountered by the robot.
  • Direct application in projects
After training, the model is integrated into the program as a block and can be used immediately in the robot.
  • Experimenting with training parameters
Students can explore how the number of epochs, the learning rate, or the network structure affect the quality of the results.
  • Import and export of training data
It is possible to create data sets in the project or import/export external data sets in order to experiment with new cases.
  • Real-time execution on the controller
Trained models run directly on the TXT 4.0 and RX Controller without the need for a connected computer.
  • Preconfigured exercises
The fischertechnik learning concepts (e.g., STEM Coding Ultimate AI) contain ready-made exercises that enable a quick start and a step-by-step understanding of neural networks.

Training neural networks in the STEM Suite (download)

  • Easy introduction to AI with a visual, accessible interface
  • Practical learning with real robots.
  • Customizable exercises for different ages and skill levels.
  • Understanding of how parameters and data influence AI results.
  • Automatic block generation facilitates integration into own projects.

The 4-Step Learning Process :

1. Creating the neural network:

The tool allows you to create and train your own neural network in a simple and intuitive way.

2. Ttaining the neural network :

The neural network is trained using existing data or data collected by sensors.

3. Integration into the program:

After completing the training, an AI block "execute NN with inpts" is generated that can be used in programs to intelligently control motors, LEDs, or other actuators, for example.

4. Real-time execution:

The trained modelruns directly on the controller without the need for a computer to be permanently connected.

Teacher's Material

fischertechnik Education products include comprehensive, freely accessible teaching materials. These have been developed together with teacher training colleges, teachers and didacticians and are ideally suited to the needs of the classroom. In addition to the topic introduction, lesson plans with task sheets and educational plan references are available.

    • The topic introduction provides content that can be optimally used for lesson preparation and integrated into the lessons. Definitions, history, basic knowledge and much more are provided.
    • The teaching material includes an overview of the learning objectives as well as the time required for the tasks. In line with the curriculum-relevant topics, various tasks are included within which different experiments are dealt with.
    • The tasks are divided into a construction task, thematic task and experimentation task. In this way, one progresses from building, to learning technical content, to applying the acquired knowledge.
